Faculty Development
Teaching the teachers
Beyond building products, I've spent years training the people who teach — bringing research-backed pedagogy, technology, and learning-space design to faculty across India.
What I train
ICT in the classroom
Using technology to enrich live teaching — without letting the tools get in the way of learning.
Assessment & evaluation design
Designing assessments that measure genuine understanding, not memory and recall.
Digital assessment methods
Computationally-intelligent, deeply-randomized online assessment that resists copying.
Learning-space design & built pedagogy
Designing rooms where the space itself teaches. See my built-pedagogy work →
Active-cooperative & adaptive learning
Turning passive lectures into active, collaborative, technology-enabled sessions that adapt to the learner.
Effective online teaching
Pedagogy that genuinely works over a screen — engagement, interaction, and feedback at a distance.
Teaching innovations
Founded CREATES
Established the Centre for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education in Science at IISER Bhopal with Ministry of Education funding — impacting 50,000+ teachers & learners.
Studio AIR
India's first technology-enabled adaptive-immersive-responsive classroom, designed & built 0→1. See the space →
Conversational Pedagogy
During the pandemic lockdown, turned Slack into a conversational classroom for 200+ students across four courses — driving engagement through activities, peer interaction, and directly nudging students, with no LMS at all and far more effectively than one. See the approach →
Active-cooperative courses
Developed and taught several courses — physical and online — built around active-cooperative pedagogy rather than one-way lecturing.
Digital assessment tools
Built Examineer — computationally-intelligent, deeply-randomized assessments now used by thousands.
Physics through Computational Thinking
A new course, a MOOC, now a book
I co-created Physics through Computational Thinking with Dr. Auditya Sharma — a genuinely new course that teaches undergraduate physics by computing it, using Wolfram Language. It was the first course taught in Studio AIR, then went national as an NPTEL / SWAYAM MOOC for 5,000+ learners — and is now becoming a textbook.
